Digital pathology

The project “DIGI-PAT – Structural reform of organizational and process models in digital pathology for person-centered and integrated cancer care” was dedicated to digitization in the field of (digital) pathology in Lower Austria and was intended to provide a decisive impetus for working with state-of-the-art technology in the future.

The primary aim was to create the organizational, technical, and procedural conditions for the implementation of a fully digital pathology in Lower Austria, which is based on international best practices but is specifically tailored to the circumstances of Lower Austrian pathology institutes.

The project was carried out and implemented within the framework of the European Union's Technical Support Instrument (TSI) in close cooperation with Maastricht University Medical Center (Netherlands) and the European Commission's “Reforms and Investments” task force.
